K - 6 Grade Catechesis Youth / Teen Ministry Adult Faith Formation Service For Christ Vacation Bible School

OUR PARISH SEEKS TO ESPECIALLY SERVE OTHERS

Our parish has several committees that are centered on offering Corporal Acts of Mercy in response to Making a Difference in the Name of Jesus Christ.

3 Corporal Acts of Charity Projects are currently open to all ages to Participate.

 

Helping Hands Ministry of MBS Church

MEALS FOR THE HOMELESS:

The mission of the committee invites parish members to participate together on the 3rd Saturday of each month to help provide hot meals at 7 Bridges Shelter for women and children. In addition this committee also helps distribute food at random locations to those who are located under bridges or living on the street.

The committee chairs are  Roland and Mary Welsh.

 

 

 

 

 

FOOD PANTRY FOR THE HUNGRY:

Each first Sunday we request members to bring canned, boxed, and bottled goods for the parish’ newly established Food Panty. Groceries donated by members on the 1st Sunday of every month will be available to parish families and families living in the local community who can use food assistance.

Parish members and needy persons can pick up emergency food bags from the parish center building on:

bullet

the 1st Saturdays of the month from 10:30a.m. until 12 Noon;

bullet

3rd Wednesdays of the month from 6:00p.m. until 7:30p.m., and

bullet

after both Masses on the 3rd Sunday of each month.

Extra goods not claimed here by those in need will from time to time be donated to various local non-profit groups that work to help feed the hungry. The committee leader is Alvaydee Falkner.

ITEMS REQUESTED: Canned goods, boxed and bottled food items, paper goods. DO NOT BRING perishable goods such as fresh vegetables or fruit, eggs or baked goods, milk or can goods with a short expiration date.

 

 

COMMUNITY GARDEN:

The Mission of the Community Garden Committee is to invite our parish members to become involved in creating, growing and tending a community garden. Portions of the food grown in this garden will be distributed to an identified local organization and also church members. Garden groundbreaking ceremony will be announced as soon as it is scheduled.

The committee chairs are Pat Matthews and B.J. Youngblood.
